"Strider"

Showboat Shepherds is proud to present our star, Multi BISS & Multi Group Winning Am. & Int'l. Ch. Rohan's Reward TC, CGC, HT, RE, CDX.  Strider is owned by Kay Springer and Melanie Elder and was bred by Bobbie Kindy and Kathy Aubrey. He is out of Sel. Ex. Ch. Utopia's Blast From The Past ROM and Sel. Ex. Am. Ch. & Sel Can. Ch. Witmer's Jamiroquai ROM.

Strider has all of his health clearances including OFA Hips (good), OFA Elbows, OFA Cardiac & Heart and is OFA DM Clear.  He does carry the long coat factor.

Strider has had a phenomenal show career and was guided and handled throughout his show career by Art Sinclair.  Strider was in his first show at 9 months and went RWD & Best Puppy & on to a Puppy Group 4.  At the GSDCA National Specialty, he was 4th in a large 9-12 class.  The judge had many nice comments on "this arrogant puppy".  At this first specialty show in the 12-18 class, he got a 5 pt. major reserve under Rita Sandell. Shortly after that, he went Winner's Dog from the American bred class for his first major and later finished under specialty judges Charlotte LaRosa and Joe LaRosa at a little over two years of age.  He won at both all breeds and specialties.

Strider retired from conformation showing in early 2010 with a record of 75 Best of Breeds (from specialties & all breeds), six Group 1s and multiple Group placings.  He was also the 2008 Best of Breed winner at the Eukanuba Invitational Dog Show and Best Opposite Sex at the same show in 2009.  He ended his showing career rated the #5 & #6 GSD in the country for 2009.

After retiring from conformation showing, he went on to obtain his CDX in the performance arena with placings for all three legs and is currently in training for his UD.  He recently stepped back into the conformation ring as a veteran and went BOS over some very nice male specials.  He will be shown selectively by Art as a Veteran.
